Description
This session describes the role of venous oxygen saturations when assessing the adequacy of tissue oxygenation in critically-ill patients, interpretation of the values in different clinical scenarios and how these values affect the choice of a management strategy.

- Measure venous oxygen saturations
- Interpret the results of blood gas analysis
- Instigate appropriate therapy based on interpretation of the blood gas
- Recognize when further clinical investigations are required
