Session Overview
Description
This session provides an outline of the key hormonal and metabolic factors that regulate cardiac function.

Learning Objectives
By the end of this session you will be able to:

  • Explain how intrinsic circulatory hormones affect cardiac function
  • Explain the role of atrial natriuretic peptide and brain natriuretic peptide on cardiac function
  • Describe the key metabolic factors which regulate cardiac function

Prerequisites
Before commencing this session you should complete:

  • Regulation of Cardiac Function (001-0642)
  • Biophysical Regulation of Cardiac Function (001-0643)
