Welcome to the first of three sessions in the Alcohol Identification and Brief Advice (IBA) e-learning module.

Learning Objectives

By the end of this session you will be able to:

  • Recognise how many units of alcohol are in common alcoholic beverages
  • Recall the different terms used to describe drinking and its risks appropriately
  • Describe the physical, mental and social implications of alcohol misuse

The concept of ‘units’ can be confusing. This session aims to clarify the concept and provide detail about the health implications of drinking alcohol.
