Adjuvant Analgesics and Regional Anaesthesia course for Nurses
This session explores adjuvant analgesic including their mechanisms, side effects, pharmacokinetics and routes. It also covers regional anaesthesia, specifically wound infusion, spinal block and epidurals.
By the end of this session, you will be able to:
- Outline the different adjuvant analgesics including their routes, side effects and mechanisms
- Describe modes of regional analgesia and their place in pain management
Since qualifying from St Thomas’ Hospital Medical School in 1990, Jane trained in anaesthesia in London at St Thomas’ and Bart’s hospitals, and in Oxford.
She is now a consultant anaesthetist in Oxford, and an honorary senior clinical lecturer at the University of Oxford.
Jane’s professional interests include acute and inpatient pain management.
Jane is a content author and module editor for the e-PAIN project.
