This session considers different types of interstitial lung disease and key investigations used to arrive at a diagnosis. The different treatment and management options available for patients are also covered.
Learning Objectives
By the end of this session you will be able to:
- Identify different types of interstitial lung disease (ILD)
- List key investigations to help identify the aetiology of ILD
- Summarise the treatment and management options available for patients affected by ILD
Prerequisites
Before commencing this session you should:
- Have a basic understanding and knowledge of how to interpret pulmonary lung function results, chest radiographs and CT chest imaging
- Be familiar with the national guidelines on interstitial lung disease
In this session different types of interstitial lung disease will be explored through four case studies which focus on:

- Investigations
- Treatment
