- Identify the drugs that commonly cause hyponatraemia
Many drugs can cause a low plasma sodium level. This is most likely when the drug is first started, but can occur at any time during treatment.
This session highlights the drugs commonly used in clinical practice that can cause hyponatraemia.
They are considered in two groups:
- Drugs that probably act by causing the syndrome of inappropriate anti-diuretic hormone secretion (SIADH )
