By the end of this session you will be able to:
- Identify the initial investigations required in the investigation of mitral stenosis
- Identify the need for the involvement of speciality teams
- Manage mitral stenosis
Although becoming less common, mitral stenosis (MS) is an important cardiac cause of breathlessness. Patients can present either with chronic breathlessness, or acutely with severe symptoms.
This session will discuss the investigation of MS. The results of investigations will be shown and the subsequent management of this condition will be discussed.
