Acting with Integrity course with Dental Practice
This session will encourage you to further explore acting with integrity, behaving in an open, honest and ethical manner, as a healthcare practitioner.
Learning Objectives
This session will support you to:
- Uphold personal and professional ethics and values, taking into account the values of the organisation and respecting the culture, beliefs and abilities of individuals
- Communicate effectively with individuals, appreciating their social, cultural, religious and ethnic backgrounds and their age, gender and abilities
- Value, respect and promote equality and diversity
- Take appropriate action if ethics and values are compromised
This will enable you to raise awareness of the need for good communication in a range of contexts, recognising the need for value and respect. It will also help you to promote equality and diversity in your practice, ensuring you develop future strategies for dealing with ethical issues, particularly when ethics and values are compromised and ensure you act with integrity.

Wendy Durham is currently employed in a dual role as a Practice Educator and Non-Medical Clinical Tutor at Hinchingbrooke Hospital, Huntingdon.
She is a Registered General Nurse with a BA (Hons) Degree, Masters Degree in Research & Evidenced-based Practice and is currently studying towards her Professional Doctorate. Wendy currently works in multi-professional practice education, which includes developing and implementing preceptorship programmes and mentorship. In her free time, Wendy works as an Associate Lecturer for the Open University and is a qualified Lecturer/Practitioner with Post Graduate Certificates in both Medical Education and Professional Studies in Education (OPEN).
